Dr. Katie Leslie is a 2014 graduate of the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her undergraduate training at UNC Chapel Hill and did most of her growing up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her family has owned and loved all kinds of animals over the years (including dogs, rodents, horses, and reptiles!), and her choice to become a veterinarian was motivated by her love of animals combined with an interest in medicine that was sparked by her mother’s career as a human emergency physician. Her special interests within veterinary medicine include preventative care, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, and she has a soft spot for dogs with scruffy faces and cats that give headbutts.
Dr. Leslie and her husband, Jonah, live in Woodcroft and are pet parents to two dogs, Triscuit and Appa, and a California king snake named Garrus. In her free time, Dr. Leslie likes to stay active through cycling, Zumba, and playing softball, and is not-so-secretly a huge nerd who enjoys playing card and board games, reading fantasy novels, and watching sci-fi TV shows.
