Dr. Lauren Whitley

There are few careers where your work day can be brightened by the kiss from a puppy or the purr of a kitty. Providing animals with the highest quality care is the reason I became a veterinarian. Every day is an opportunity to help, whether it is preventively through vaccination and wellness blood work screenings or in disease management through the use of pharmaceuticals and diagnostic testing.

Dr. Lauren Whitley received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2006 from North Carolina State University after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2003. Dr Whitley joined Park Veterinary Hospital in 2008 as a full-time associate and practiced there for 3 years, then returned in 2013 as a part-time associate. She pursued further training as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, completing the program in 2010. Dr. Whitley also obtained certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) in 2013 through Colorado State University. She has returned to the program (now known as Curacore Integrative Medicine and Education Center) several times to assist in teaching students as a clinical preceptor.

She has a particular interest in orthopedics, neurology, and geriatric care. In her free time, Dr. Whitley enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, baking, running, and learning to play the piano.
